Are You Ready?

"Living a life of faith means never knowing where you are being led, but loving and knowing the One who is leading."

This was a quote from March 19th from the devotion, My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.

It is so relevant to me right now because I really have no idea where even my next step is. I am really trying to not worry about it and to put my all into where God has me now because if I only ever worry about what's next, when it comes, I won't enjoy it or get all that I could from it due to the fact that I am too busy focusing on the next thing.

ANYWAYS, God has really just been telling me that it is when I am close to Him that I will find where He wants me next. Even then, it may not be a walk in the park, but it will not be full of unnecessary stressing and worrying, not if I am truly and fully trusting in Him and focusing on Him.

This is almost like a post I am writing to myself to remind me to STOP trying to plan it all out, STOP trying to make it all work, STOP all of your pointless worrying and uneasiness. For it is when we draw near to Him, that He will draw near to us (James 4:8). To me those words make it seem so simple. Shouldn't it be simple? Draw near to Him and He will do the same...yeah, that shouldn't be too hard right? Well why don't you give it a shot?...try it out. I mean really try it out. Not just, "Hey God, be near to me. Amen." But with your whole heart, call to Him (Jeremiah 33:3), tell Him what you are feeling and going through, tell Him what's up. Get to know Him, really finding out who this God is, and I can't imagine you not coming to love Him.

And like the quote read in the beginning, this will strike up faith, because faith is rooted in the knowledge of a person.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that I am taking my own advice! =)
I am ready for Him to be near.
Are you?

This Is What I Have To Live With...

...And I thank God.
<3 I know it's over a month late, but these pictures are so cute! For Valentines Day I made the girls heart shaped grilled cheese. The sandwiches were yummy and the scraps were fun to play with (and the scraps were also MY lunch). =) They are too cute. Hakuna Matata

Please God,

I ask you to send me to Southeast Asia.
I have no clue why, but those people are on my heart.

You are a good God, and with this I know that You will send me where I can fulfill Your plans for my life, whatever country or countries that may be.

But You are a God that I can talk with, and share my heart with, and that is what I am doing. At the same time I seek You for Your wisdom and guidance in my life. I love you Father.

Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!"

Here's the Plan...

...Starting with Afghanistan.

I was once told to learn something about everywhere, and everything about somewhere.

I believe this is a very good idea and can help with the beginning of new friendships.
I have not decided on the country I want to learn everything about yet...but that will come. In the mean time, I am starting to learn something about everywhere.

To make it organized I am doing it in alphabetical order, and the first country goes to...

AFGHANISTAN!!!

Whoot! Whoot!

Here is what I know:
Country: Afghanistan

Capitol: Kabul (pronounced, "cobble")
Something Interesting: Buzkashi is Afghanistan's national sport. In English it simply translates to "goat grabbing."

So now I am prepared. The next time I meet someone from Afghanistan I will have something to talk about (or ask them about because buzkashi is something I don't get all the way). =) At least to begin.
You can learn along with me if you so desire. I will be posting the different countries and the info. about them, or you can do it on your own. I hope you will take the challenge and be as excited as I am!

TAG, You're It

While I was in a seminar at Urbana09 I heard something that was really cool and I think everyone should try to get in a habit of doing.

The speaker asked if we wanted to be missionaries. He then asked what we were doing now to fulfill that desire and command. His suggestion was that we start going to work for the people in other countries around the world.
"Why don't you start by praying?"
was his question.
"Why don't you, before getting dressed in the morning, check your tag on the back of your shirt and start praying for the country and the person who made your shirt?"

It really is a neat way to get started on missionary work.
And also a way to remember to pray and to possibly help others around the world through that simple act.

I am still trying to make it a habit to check my tag. I forget often, but believe that it will come with time.

TODAY I PRAYED FOR:
The people of the Dominican Republic
& the specific person or people
who put their working hands on my shirt.
